The Holliston Education Foundation Receives $50,000 from Middlesex Savings Bank
Gift will be used for the Holliston education innovation initiative
Holliston Mass., January 24, 2018 – The Holliston Education Foundation (HEF) today announced it received a $50,000 gift from Middlesex Savings Bank. The gift will allow HEF to provide support to the new Holliston education innovation initiative, announced by Dr. Brad Jackson in September 2018 in the Holliston Schools Community Newsletter. Over the next two years, HEF will work with school leaders to fund seed projects and training that promotes innovative educational practices, creativity and increased educational choices for students and families involved in our schools.
“We have been supporting great teachers and their ideas for 27 years in Holliston, bringing excellent programs like “Primary Source” for history and humanities studies, a mosaic project for art, Orff training for music, support for the Music Technology Lab, mindfulness in elementary classrooms, and more. But this gift is very, very special. It will allow us to support a major new initiative in our schools – the pursuit of innovation that will transform the way we teach students and prepare them for the unknown as technology and major advances change our world. We plan to make this a transformative initiative, and our long-time major corporate sponsor, the Middlesex Savings Bank, is making our plans possible.” states Heidi Gibson, HEF Treasurer
“Middlesex Savings Bank has great respect for the education foundations in our community,” said Michael McAuliffe, President and CEO of Middlesex Savings Bank. “They work hard to support projects and programs that foster learning and creativity. We hope these donations will make their jobs easier this year and are excited to see their existing academic programs flourish or new ones come to life.”
About HEF
HEF has been working since 1991 to support educators by partnering with the community to provide opportunities that offer unsurpassed best practices in the classroom and support district and school improvement goals. This gift will be used in support of HEF’s primary mission: “to invest in programs that enhance, enrich and promote educational excellence while fostering innovation in the Holliston Public Schools.”
