To accomplish this the committee has developed a comprehensive survey designed to gather the maximum public input into the planning process. It gives me a great deal of personal pleasure to inform you that the Holliston School Committee, by a unanimous and enthusiastic vote, voted to name the courtyard in the Placentino Elementary School in honor of Linda Weene.

Incident at the High School

Dear Parents/Guardians: Earlier today, a few High School students were working on a project for a class. The project included a prop that resembled a gun, although in reality the prop was a disabled airsoft gun that that had the orange tip designating it as a toy, removed.

This has been a difficult week for all of us. Our priority at the beginning of the week was to ensure that we had supports in place for students and staff members who were dealing with the emotional impact of the tragedy in nearby Newtown Connecticut.
BYOD meeting with Parents/Superintendent

Effective January 25, 2012, the ban on student-provided laptops or tablet computers will be lifted andall High School students will be encouraged to bring their own laptop or tablet computer to school with them when school opens in late-August 2012. A BYOD Parent Information Night will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at 7PM in the Holliston High School Library. The evening will begin with a presentation and will conclude with a Question and Answer session.

Coordinated Program Review

Coordinated Program Review The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) has notified the Holliston Public Schools that our school district is scheduled for a Coordinated Program Review the week of May 2-5, 2011. Such visits are routinely conducted by the Department to satisfy federal and state requirements for the periodic review of specific education programs and services in schools throughout the Commonwealth.
