Now that school has been in session over three weeks, we’re sharing the roads more frequently with school buses. Mornings and afternoons, carefully trained bus drivers carry their crew of riders from home to school, school to home.

At the September meeting of Holliston’s Council on Aging, Chair Kevin Robert (Bob) Malone noted the improved condition of the Senior Center (bathrooms especially noted), a result of funding supported by Sen. Karen Spilka and Rep. Carolyn Dykema.
Civics Sunday: Celebrate Holliston Honors 2019 Citizens of the Year

Celebrate Holliston, a town fund-raising non-profit organization established in 1991, honors volunteers Bea Hait and Ken Henderson as its Citizens of the Year. It seems only logical since Celebrate Holliston donates its time, energy, and financial support to worthwhile town projects that it would seek out those among us who volunteer their time and energies to make our community a better place to live.

A Writers’ Group meets monthly at Holliston’s Senior Center, each writer having composed a piece in response to a given theme. July’s theme was “Breaking News.” Writers may use any genre they would like. A poem, a memoir, a personal essay, a dialogue, a short piece of fiction…whatever strikes their fancy.
